At the Sommers Law Group, Linda Sommers brings practical experience and a Christian outlook to her law practice. A third-generation Colorado native, Ms. Sommers holds a law degree from the University of Denver. Ms. Sommers has been practicing law for thirty-one years and operating her own law office for thirty years. She started her legal career as a paralegal in 1986. In 1990, she enrolled as a law student at DU. While in law school, Ms. Sommers served as a student attorney representing clients in civil and criminal cases. Her legal experience includes years with Denver firms, where she worked on a range of legal issues, including estate planning, probate, civil litigation, and criminal law.
In 1996, Linda opened her own practice. In 2003, Linda began to focus her practice exclusively on estate planning, estate administration, and asset protection. Ms. Sommers commits to excellence, integrity, and caring for her clients. She has established herself as one of Colorado’s pre-eminent estate, business succession, asset protection, and wealth transfer planning attorneys. By listening to clients and explaining complex concepts in clear, easy-to-understand language, Ms. Sommers has developed the level of trust necessary to guide and empower families in establishing a personal and financial legacy that will be passed down through generations. Linda Sommers is passionate about helping her clients. Forming close and personal relationships with each of her clients is an important aspect of her practice.
Ms. Sommers is deeply committed to the community, and her pro bono and volunteer work significantly enhances her ability to advocate effectively and partner with her clients. In addition to her work in the community, Ms. Sommers is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, including the Trusts & Estates section and the Elder Law section, as well as WealthCounsel (a national group of top estate planning attorneys in the United States) and the Colorado Estate Planning Education Council. Ms. Sommers is also a strong advocate of education and offers a variety of complimentary classes regarding estate planning, end-of-life planning, ethical wills, senior safety, and more.
Linda Sommers is also a very passionate and driven person. Linda enjoys horseback riding, scuba diving, camping, and traveling. She has very close relationships with her daughters, Amanda and Haley. Amanda is a University of Colorado graduate and a graduate of the University of Wyoming, College of Law. She is a licensed attorney in the state of Wyoming. Haley is a University of Colorado–Denver graduate and has just started her third and final year of law school at Utah’s S.J. Quinney College of Law.
